Victorian terraces and 1930's semis can
be found in abundance and offer good value for the first time
buyer. Erith still retains its industrial character and tower
blocks dominate its none too exciting town centre. Northumberland
Heath and Barnhurst to the south offer more semis and bungalows.
Belvedere has a similar abundance of Victorian terraces with
the best semis to be found in Upper Belvedere.
Thamesmead offers much of the same, although the developments
of new apartments and houses in Thamesmead North overlooking
the marshes of the Thames offer a cheaper alternative to the
pricier properties to be found along the riverbank in Greenwich.
